about

After Mudgie, the whole world shut down. I wound up leaving the city to help take care of my family during the ongoing Pandemic. I was locked down in a basement I made into a makeshift studio for a year and a half. I've watched family members pass away, I lost love, I lost friends, I lost freedom, I lost time. I was very mentally unwell and my relationship to things that were long gone became admittedly unhealthy. I think most people were feeling this way throughout this experience. Kinda hard not to look back when the whole world is basically freaking out about a tragedy or injustice each day. It was some admittedly heavy, Weird Steez. I needed to figure out how to heal. I needed to move on from the past, and deal with the present. I had to let go.

So I did the only thing I do pretty okay sometimes (I guess lol): I started making music. No set goal, no set narrative, I just made what came to me. This album is the result.

Ceebo Let Go is the product of a lot of purposeful, painful, complete isolation underneath my childhood home. But It's also the product late night phone calls to good friends, the love I felt from fans as I grew IMMENSELY as an artist during this time, (Thank you!) the occasional escape from the bunker, and long conversations with family while I processed grief and emotional weight. I'm no stranger to singing about my troubles as y'all know, but the time I was able to spend reflecting allowed me to refine and mature my sound, my writing, and myself.

It's a really vulnerable project for me. Sure I'm still goofing around but that's how I tend to handle real pain. I tried to be as fully transparent with these thoughts as I could as they came to me and I made my peace. It's fun on the outside, pained on the inside. I busted my ass for months on this one bc I finally had the time to fully realize this project, and I truly believe it's my best work because of it! I hope it resonates with everyone who has been through the wringer, and helps you find peace and have some fun in the process the same way I did making it. Letting go is easier said than done. I hope you enjoy your time with this record. You're all my family.

Much Love, and see you soon
- Ceebo (Hi, I'm Chris)

For Jason, Joe and Kevin: I wouldn't be here without you. Thank you for being my brothers for life, the countless late night joyrides and still finding ways to do some fun dumb shit in all of this.
